Audacious Faith - Pt. 1

“I don’t want to play with marbles, when God told me to move mountains!”

Reinhard Bonnke

A few years ago, I was preparing to speak at an event and the night before, I had a dream…

In the dream, I knew what I was witnessing was long in the future. Christ had returned, we were in the kingdom to come, and history had come to a close.

I watched as a young man walked down a road where he came upon a large book. The book lay open on a wooden pedestal in the middle of the road. As he approached the book, I could see that it contained the story of history.

As the young man flipped through the pages, I saw the stories of Abraham, Noah and the flood, the Judges, and king David. He continued and I saw the Early Church. Then it moved into more recent moves of God. I saw the First and Second Great Awakening and other similar revivals. Then he flipped to a page that told the story of our day…

When he got to our day in history, he paused. There was an older man standing nearby to whom the young man said, “Excuse me, sir.” And pointing to the book he said, I’m unfamiliar with this time. What happened in these days?”

The older man came closer to the book and peered at its pages. When he saw the page to which the young man was referring, a knowing smile creased his face. “Ah,” he said. “Those were unusual days…”

The young man waited intently for him to continue. The older man went on, “The people of that generation had an audacious faith in God… and the mighty works of God were poured forth upon the earth because of it…”

Then the dream ended.

I believe the story of our generation—the trait for which history will remember us—will be, Audacious Faith.

Audacious has a couple of definitions. One of which is, “The willingness to take surprisingly bold risks.”

If we’re going to be a generation that walks in Audacious Faith, there are a few things we’ll need to know. Over the next few editions of CONSECRATED, I will be highlighting principles to being people of Audacious Faith.

I can’t wait to share them with you.
